Former Pennsylvania-Ontario-New York League prospect Prentice "Pidge" Browne was born on this date in 1929. He played for the Hamilton Cardinals during the 1950 and 1952 seasons.

Browne played in 65 games for the 1962 Houston Colt .45s as a 33 year old rookie. 

He died on June 3, 1997, at the age of 68.
