Happy 86th Birthday to former New York-Penn League prospect Galen Cisco. He played for the Corning Red Sox in 1958.

He pitched in the majors during 7 seasons with the Boston Red Sox (1961-62, '67), New York Mets (1962-65), and Kansas City Royals (1969).

After he retired as a player, Cisco coached for the Kansas City Royals (1971-79), Montreal Expos (1980-84), San Diego Padres (1985-87), Toronto Blue Jays (1988, 1990-95), and Philadelphia Phillies (1997-2000)

Cisco was elected to the Ohio State Athletic Hall of Fame as a football and baseball player in 1995.
