Scott went on to play in the majors for 14 seasons with the Boston Red Sox (1966-71, 1977-79)), Milwaukee Brewers (1972-76), Kansas City Royals (1979), and New York Yankees (1979). He was an American League All-Star in 1966, '75, and '77, and won 8 Gold Gloves.
After his playing days, he managed in Mexico and was elected to the Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame in 2006. Scott died on July 28, 2013, at the age of 69.
