Former PONY League prospect Duke Maas was born on this date in 1929. He pitched for the 1950 Jamestown Falcons.

He played in the majors for the Detroit Tigers (1955-57), Kansas City Athletics (1958), and New York Yankees (1958-61).

Maas died on December 7, 1976, at the age of 47.
