Former New York-Penn League prospect Carlos Velazquez was born on this date in 1948 in Loiza, Puerto Rico. He played for the Newark Co-Pilots in 1971.

Velazquez pitched in 18 games for the 1973 Milwaukee Brewers (2-2, 2.58 ERA).

He died on March 16, 2000, at the age of 51.
