Including rehab assignments, there are four former West Virginia Black Bears on the Pittsburgh Pirates opening day roster.

Former Black Bears Edgar Santana ('15), Dovydas Neverauskas (rehab '15), Tyler Glasnow (rehab '15), and Steven Brault (rehab '16) are on the Pirates roster to start the 2018 season.
