Castro pitched for the Milwaukee Brewers (1974-80), New York Yankees (1981), and Kansas City Royals (1982-83).

After his playing days he worked for the Milwaukee Brewers as a scout (1985-87) and coach (1989-2009). He coached for the Baltimore Orioles during 2012 and '13 seasons.

Fryman was a five time American League All-Star during his 13 year major league career. He played for the Detroit Tigers (1990-97) and Cleveland Indians (1998-2002).

He currently works for the Cleveland Indians in player development.

Egan played for the Detroit Tigers (1963-64), California Angels (1966), and Los Angeles Dodgers (1967).

After his playing days, he coached for the Texas Rangers and worked in the front offices of the Florida Marlins and Detroit Tigers.

He died of a heart ailment on March 6, 1967 at the age of 34.

Former New York-Penn League manager Fred Hatfield was born on this date in 1925. He managed the Jamestown Tigers in 1963.

Hatfield played for the Boston Red Sox (1950-52), Detroit Tigers (1952-56), Chicago White Sox (1956-57), Cleveland Indians (1958), and Cincinnati Reds (1958). He was the head baseball coach at Florida State University (1964-68) and managed in the minors for several years. He was a coach for the Detroit Tigers during the 1977 and '78 seasons.

He died on May 22, 1998, at the age of 73
