The Cincinnati Reds announce they are ending their working agreement with the Geneva, New York team of the New York-Penn League for the 1963 season.

Today's Birthday: Purnal Goldy (Erie Sailors, 1959)

Former New York-Penn League prospect Purnal Goldy was born on this date in 1937. He played for the Erie Sailors during the 1959 season (72 games, 8 HR, 32 RBI, .307/.365/.487). 

Goldy played in a total 29 games for the Detroit Tigers during the 1962 and '63 seasons.  

 He on died September 21, 2009, at age of 71.
