New York-Penn League Birthdays: March 11

Dock Ellis (Batavia Pirates, 1964). Born in 1945, Ellis died on December 19, 2008. He pitched 12 seasons in the major leagues and had a career record of 138-119.

Cesar Geronimo (Oneonta Yankees, 1967). Born in 1948. Geronimo played in the majors for 15 seasons and won five Golden Gloves (1974-77)

Larry Landreth (Jamestown Expos, 1973). Born in 1955. He pitched in seven games for the Montreal Expos (1976-
77).

Eddie Rodriguez (manager, St. Catharines Stompers, 1999; Queens Kings, 2000). Born in Havana, Cuba in 1959. He played in the minors for 5 seasons (1978-81, '84) and was a longtime minor league manager and major league coach following his playing career.

Dwayne Hosey (Utica Blue Sox, 1988). Born in 1967. Hosey played in 52 regular season and three post-season games for the Boston Red Sox over two seasons (1995-96).

Gar Finnvold (Elmira Pioneers, 1990). Born in 1968. He pitched in eight games for the Boston Red Sox in 1994.

Mike Shirley (Watertown Indians, 1991). Born in 1970. He played in three season in the minors.

Rod Henderson (Jamestown Expos, 1992). Born in 1971. He pitched in 5 major league games over two seasons (Montreal Expos, 1994 and Milwaukee Brewers, 1998).

Nate Teut (Williamsport Cubs, 1997). Born in 1976. Teut pitched in two games for the 2002 Florida Marlins.

Eric Ireland (Auburn Doubledays, 1997). Born in 1977. He played eight seasons in the minor leagues.

Mike Bolsenbroek (Williamsport Crosscutters, 2009). Born in 1987. He pitched 3 seasons in the minors.
