Former NYPL Prospects Listed in Baseball America's Prospect Handbook (part 3 - Batavia)

It's that time of year. I'm going through my copy of the 2019 Prospect Handbook published by Baseball America. It is sold out at the publisher's website, but is available at Amazon.

Here are the former Batavia Muckdogs who are included in the Miami Marlins top 30 prospects list. Link to their Baseball Reference page by clicking on the player's name.

7. Edward Cabrera, pitcher (2017). Pitched in 13 games for the Muckdogs (35.2 IP, 1-3, 5.30 IP). Played at Greensboro in the South Atlantic League in 2018. Look for him at Jupiter in the Florida State League this season.

15. Jordan Holloway, pitcher (2015-16, rehab 2018). Holloway pitched for the Muckdogs for parts of the 2015 (5-6, 2.91 ERA) and 2016 seasons (0-3, 6.23 ERA). After Tommy John surgery in 2017, he rehabbed at Batavia last season, pitching 3 innings. Should begin 2019 at Jupiter.

25. Austin Dean, outfielder (2013). Drafted in the fourth round of the 2012 draft out of high school. Played in 56 games for Batavia in 2013 (.262/.325/.418). Appeared in 34 games for the Miami Marlins in 2018 and is on the 40 man roster.

27. Davis Bradshaw, outfielder (2018). Drafted by the Marlins in the 11th round of the 2018 draft after one year at a junior college. Played in 18 games for the Muckdogs in 2018 (.324/.368/.352). Expected to begin 2019 season with Clinton, Iowa in the Midwest League.
  
NOTE: One other player on the Marlins' top 30 prospects list played in the New York-Penn League: 

6. Jorge Guzman pitched for the Staten Island Yankees in 2017 and the Miami Marlins obtained him in the Giancarlo Stanton trade on December 11, 2017. He is on the Marlins' 40-man roster and was optioned to the Jacksonville Jumbo Scrimp on March 8, 2019.
