Happy Birthday to former New York-Penn League prospect Jim Gantner, who was born on this date in 1953. He played for the 1974 Newark Co-Pilots.

Gantner played in the majors for 17 seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers (1976-1992).

After he retired as a player, he went into business in the Milwaukee area and was the Brewers first base coach during the 1996 and '97 seasons.
