Happy 54th Birthday to former New York-Penn League prospect Eric Wedge. He played for the 1989 Elmira Pioneers.

Wedge played in the majors during four seasons (39 games) with the Boston Red Sox (1991, '92, '94) and Colorado Rockies (1993)

After he retired as a player, Wedge managed in the minor leagues for 5 seasons, and managed in the major leagues for the Cleveland Indians (2003-09) and Seattle Mariners (2011-13).

Wedge is currently head baseball coach for the Wichita State University Shockers.
