Former PONY League prospect Jack Littrell was born on this date in 1929. He played for the 1949 Hornell Maple Leafs.

Littrell played in the major leagues during 4 seasons with the Philadelphia/Kansas City Athletics (1952, '54-'55) and Chicago Cubs (1957).

His son, Jack (Jamestown Expos, 1980) and grandson, Corey (Lowell Spinners, 2013) also played in the New York-Penn League. 

Littrell died on June 9, 2009, at the age of 80.
