Former PONY (New York-Penn) League prospect Cal Abrams was born on this date in 1924. He played for the 1942 Olean Oilers.

Abrams played for the Brooklyn Dodgers (1949-52), Cincinnati Reds (1952), Pittsburgh Pirates (1953-54), Baltimore Orioles (1954-55), and Chicago White Sox (1956).

He died on February 25, 1997, at the age of 72. He was buried in his Brooklyn Dodgers uniform.
