Former New York-Penn League prospect Jim Bouton was born on this date in 1939. He played for the 1959 Auburn Yankees.

Bouton played for the New York Yankees (!962-68), Seattle Pilots (1969), Houston Astros (1969-70), and Atlanta Braves (1978).

He wrote the best selling book, Ball Four in 1970. He died on July 10, 2019, at the age of 80.
