Happy 81st birthday to former New York-Penn League manager Ron Brand. He managed the Niagara Falls Pirates to a 33-36 record in 1974.

Prior to managing in the minors, he played for the Pittsburgh Pirates (1963), Houston Astros (1965-68), and Montreal Expos (1969-71).
