Happy Birthday to former New York-Penn League prospect Bob Strampe, who was born on this date in 1950 in Janesville, Wisconson. He is son of former minor league pitcher Bob Strampe, Sr.

He was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in 18th round of the 1968 MLB Amateur Draft. Strampe pitched in 19 games for the 1969 Batavia Trojans (115 IP, 10 wins, 5 losses, 2.97 ERA, 138 SO).

Strampe pitched in 7 games for the 1972 Detroit Tigers. On November 18, 1974 he was traded along with Ed Brinkman and Dick Sharon to the San Diego Padres for Nate Colbert. He played in the minors leagues for two more seasons.
