Former PONY (New York-Penn) League prospect Roman Mejias was born in Abreus, Cuba on this date in 1930. Happy 90th Birthday! He played for the 1953 Batavia Clippers.
Mejias played in the majors during 9 seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates (1955, '57-'61), Houston Astros (1962) and Boston Red Sox (1963-64).
