Former PONY (New York-Penn) League prospect Bob Alexander was born on this date in 1922. He played for the Wellsville Yankees during the 1943 and ’44 seasons.

He pitched in the majors during two seasons, appearing in 4 games for the Baltimore Orioles in 1955 and 5 games for the 1957 Cleveland Indians.

Alexander died on April 7, 1993, at the age of 70.
