Former PONY (New York-Penn) League prospect Vince Shupe was born on this date in 1921. He played for the Olean Oilers during two seasons (1939-40).

He played in 78 games for the Boston Braves in 1945.

Shupe died on April 5, 1962, at the age of 40.
