Former New York-Penn League prospect and manager
Ken Brett was born on this date in 1948. He played for the 1966 Oneonta Red Sox and managed the Utica Blue Sox in1985.
He pitched in the majors during 14 seasons with the Boston Red Sox
(1967, '69-'71), Milwaukee Brewers (1972), Philadelphia Phillies (1973),
Pittsburgh Pirates (1974-75), New York Yankees (1976), Chicago White
Sox (1976-77), California Angels (1977-78), Minnesota Twins (1979), Los
Angeles Dodgers (1979), and Kansas City Royals (1980-81).
His brother, George Brett was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999.
He died on November 18, 2003, at the age of 55.
