Happy 81st Birthday to former New York-Penn League prospect Bob Heffner, who was born on this date in 1938 in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

He played for the Corning Red/Cor Sox during three seasons (1957-59). Heffner went to pitch for the Boston Red Sox (1963-65), Cleveland Indians (1966), and California Angels ( 1968).

After he retired from baseball, Heffner worked for a beverage company in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
