Former New York-Penn League prospects, managers and coaches who were born on this date:

Vince Shupe: Born in 1921. Played for the Olean Oilers in 1939 and '40. He played in 78 games for the Boston Braves in 1945. He died on April 5, 1962 at the age of 40.

Karl Kuehl: Born in 1937. Managed the Geneva Redlegs (1961-62). He managed the Montreal Expos in 1976 and was a coach with the Minnesota Twins (1977-82). He died August 6, 2008 at the age of 70.

Gil Patterson: Born in 1955. Pitched for the 1975 Oneonta Yankees. Appeared in 10 games for the 1977 New York Yankees. He was the pitching coach for Oneonta in 1984 and was a coach in the Oakland Athletics organization.

Tim Birtsas: Born in 1960. Played for the Oneonta Yankees in 1982. Pitched in the majors during 5 seasons with the Oakland Athletics (1985-86) and Cincinnati Reds (1988-90).

Ron Rightnowar: Born in 1964. Pitched in one game for the Niagara Falls Rapids in 1990. Pitched in 35 games for the 1995 Milwaukee Brewers.

Andy Barkett: Born in 1974. Managed the Oneonta Tigers in 2007. Played in 17 games for the 2001 Pittsburgh Pirates.

Calvin Maduro: Born in 1974. He was the Aberdeen IronBirds pitching coach in 2006. Pitched in the majors during 5 seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies (1996-97) and Baltimore Orioles 2000-02).

Randy Choate: Born in 1975. Pitched Oneonta Yankees in 1997. Played in the majors during 15 seasons with the New York Yankees (2000-03), Arizona Diamondbacks (2004-07), Tampa Bay Rays 2009-10), Florida/Miami Marlins (2011-12), Los Angeles Dodgers (2012) and St. Louis Cardinals (2013-15).

Matt Watson: Born in 1978. Played for the 1999 Vermont Expos. Played in the majors for the New York Mets (2003) and Oakland Athletics (2005, 2010).

Jason Martin: Born in 1995. Played for the Tri-City ValleyCats in 2014. He has played in 20 games for the 2019 Pittsburgh Pirates.
