Former PONY League prospect Jim Stump was born on this date in 1932. He played for the 1951 Jamestown Falcons, pitching in 26 games (14-3, 1.93 ERA).

Stump played for the Detroit Tigers during the 1957 and 1959 seasons.

After his baseball career, Stump worked for several years for General Motors. He died on November 19, 2015, at the age of 83.
