Happy Birthday to former New York-Penn League prospect Dwight Evans, who was born on this date in 1951. He played in 34 games for the Jamestown Falcons in 1969.

Evans went on to a 20 year major league career with the Boston Red Sox (1972-90) and Baltimore Orioles (1991). He was a three time All-Star and received 8 Gold Gloves and two Silver Slugger awards. Evans appeared in the World Series in 1975 and 1986. 

He was inducted into the Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame in 2000, and currently serves as a player development consultant for the Red Sox.
