Happy Birthday to former New York-Penn League prospect Art Shamsky, who was born on this date in 1941. He played for the the 1960 Geneva Redlegs as an 18 year-old rookie. 

Shamsky played in the majors for during 8 seasons for the Cincinnati Reds (1965-67), New York Mets (1968-71), Chicago Cubs (1972), and Oakland Athletics (1972). 

He was a New York Mets broadcaster in 1980 and '81.
