Happy 94th Birthday to former PONY (New York-Penn since 1957) League prospect Billy DeMars (Olean Oilers, 1943). DeMars went on to play in the majors for the Philadelphia Athletics (1948) and St. Louis Browns (1950-51). He managed in the minor leagues for several years and coached for the Philadelphia Phillies (1969-81, Montreal Expos (1982-84) and Cincinnati Reds (1985-87.

Happy 78th Birthday to former New York-Penn League prospect Fred Wenz (Olean Red Sox, 1961). Wenz played three seasons in the majors with the Boston Red Sox (1968-69) and Philadelphia Phillies (1970).
