Dipoto played in the majors during 8 seasons with the Cleveland Indians (1993-94), New York Mets (1995-96), and Colorado Rockies (1997-2000).

After he retired as a player, he worked in the front offices of the Arizona Diamondbacks, Los Angeles Angels, Boston Red Sox, and Seattle Mariners.
