Former New York-Penn League Players Stats from Game 1 of World Series

It was a big night for former New York-Penn League players in game one of the World Series on Tuesday. The Boston Red Sox defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 8-4 at Fenway Park. Former NYPL players accounted for all 8 runs scored, 11 hits and 7 RBI for the Red Sox and 4 hits and 3 RBI for the Dodgers.

Here is a recap of game stats by former NYPL players:

Additionally, two former NYPL players pitched in last night's game:

Joe Kelly, Boston Red Sox (Lowell, rehab '16 ) stats: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 SO

Ryan Madson, LA Dodgers (Batavia, '09) stats: 1 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 1 SO

*Note: Matt Barnes pitched one inning for the Red Sox last night . There is some confusion about whether Barnes is a former NYPL player. The Lowell Spinners Tweeted yesterday that Barnes played for the Spinners in 2011. Their website includes him on their list of former players. However, I can’t find any evidence that Barnes ever played for Lowell in 2011, or any other season. The Boston Red Sox website and their media guide indicates that he didn’t play minor league baseball until 2012, so I am not including him in the stats listing.
