Happy 71st Birthday to former New York-Penn League prospect Bob Strampe. He played for the 1969 Batavia Trojans.
Strampe pitched in 7 games for the 1972 Detroit Tigers.

Linz played in the majors during 7 seasons for the New York Yankees (1962-65), Philadelphia Phillies (1966-67), and New York Mets (1967-68).
He died on December 9, 2020, at the age of 81.

Smith went on to play six seasons in the majors with the St. Louis
Cardinals 1956-61 and was a National League All-Star in 1957 and 1959.
He played in four games while coaching for the Pittsburgh Pirates in
1965.
Smith died on April 12, 2014, in Fort Smith, Arkansas at the age of 82.
