Shaw played for the New York Mets (1967-68), Montreal Expos (1969), St. Louis Cardinals (1971-72), and Oakland Athletics (1972) during a 5 year major league career. He was the winning pitcher of the first game ever played by the Montreal Expos on April 8, 1969, against the New York Mets at Shea Stadium.
