Happy 59th birthday to former New York-Penn League prospect Victor Mata. He played two seasons for the Oneonta Yankees (1978-79).
He went on to play for the New York Yankees in a total of 36 games during the 1984 and '85 seasons.
Mata managed in the Dominican Summer League in 1992 and '93 and has worked as a scout for the New York Yankees.
